Alan graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1975. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri in 1980. He and his wife live in Bar Harbor. They enjoy biking, hiking and sailing in the summer and are avid skiers in the winter.
